The meeting was opened by approving and seconding the previous meetings minutes with no matters arising. Update on carried forward tasks were discussed and closed as applicable.
Bereavement
Our condolences were expressed to Margaret Kelly and family on the death of Joe Kelly former Club secretary. May Joe rest in peace.
Competitions Internal
The unofficial feedback in relation to the midweek team events has been positive.
Prizes for the Spring League and midweek events were discussed.
A scramble team event has been organised for St. Patrick’s Day.
Interclub Competitions
Thank you to all who have volunteered to give their time to manage club teams for our upcoming Interclub matches. The Revive Active and Senior Foursomes teams still require managers, so if you could volunteer, please call Mary Cahill on 089 659 8145.
Junior Golf
President Deirdre has now recruited 9 Volunteers for Garda vetting course to help support Junior Girls in Summer comps on Friday and Monday. President Deirdre has sent Whatsapp thanking volunteers and informing them that they will be contacted when Garda vetting arrangements have been finalized by Killian Jameson.
Get into Golf
Dylan Graham, our new Pro, is planning to start a women’s GIGs programme on Tuesday 28th April for 7 weeks. Sessions will take place from 6pm to 7pm. He plans to accommodate 10 people. Sessions will be divided between the club and the range.
Sponsorship
Our first sponsored events of the season will take place on Wednesday March 25th and the weekend competition 28th/29th March. These competitions will be sponsored by “Pin High” and we would encourage as many ladies as possible to take part and support this new sponsor and indeed all our other sponsored competitions as the season progresses.
Social Events
The Valentine’s dinner and dance was cancelled owing to the passing of former Club Secretary and manager Joe Kelly. A big thank you to Marie Vickers for all her hard work in organising this event.
Plans for International Women’s Day were finalised with a Stableford competition and lunch organised for the day. Captain Debbie also arranged a “twist” for the day which was a guarded secret!
The presentation of prizes for the Spring midweek competitions and the Spring Weekend League will take place on Friday March 27th. Alongside the presentation of prizes Alex De Silva will be putting us through our paces show as possible showing us golf specific warm ups and exercises . We would love to see as many members both male and female, old and new join us on the night.
