February 2026 Web Notes
The meeting was held remotely using Microsoft Teams owing to adverse weather conditions. The meeting was opened by approving and seconding the previous meetings minutes with no matters arising. Update on carried forward tasks were discussed and closed as applicable.
Maureen O’ Dea and her team were thanked for removing the Christmas decorations on Thursday January 8th 2026.
Bereavement
There has been no notification of any women’s members or family passing since the last committee meeting
Communication
The new members pack has been updated with Rosemary Kavanagh (member of the New Members Committee) and received approval from CoM members. Rosemary will be showing this document to the New Members Committee for final approval before uploading to the club website and printing for the Presidents to give to all new members.
There will be a new members evening on Friday 20th February with new members receiving their packs on the night.
Competitions Internal
The Spring midweek and weekend leagues are up and running. The response to the team events as part of the midweek league has been very positive with members expressing their experience as being very enjoyable. There will be a poll set up after the league has finished to establish if this is a format that members would be in favour of for the upcoming Winter League later on in the year.

Mary Cahill has agreed to be team liaison and is looking for team Managers for the following competitions.

The draws for the competitions have been communicated to the Competitions Secretary.
We are keen to get the team managers and team panel of players in place as soon as possible so that we can start team practice. Please could you contact: Mary Cahill on 089 659 8145 for further details.
Juniors Golf
President Deirdre has now recruited 9 Volunteers for Garda vetting course to help support Junior Girls in Summer comps on Friday and Monday. There will be group training arranged. If there are any members who are interested and haven’t given their name yet, please do so as soon as possible.
Get into Golf
The new Pro has stated that he has experience of and is keen to set up a GIG’s programme. We have had new male members joining but no female members joining in this new golfing year. A spreadsheet of potential participants has been set up for sharing with the new Pro when he starts. If you know of any ladies who are interested in taking up golf, please encourage them to send in their contact details so they can be added to this list.
Sponsorship
Members of the committee are working on existing sponsorship arrangements and hoping to source new sponsors for the coming season. It is intended to have all in place by the start of the season.
Social Events
Valentine’s Day Social Event: This will take place on Saturday February 14th 2026. There has been a very good response to this event.
International Women’s Day: This event will be celebrated on Friday 6th March for Wicklow women members. Further details will be displayed in the locker room and communicated by WhatsApp prior to the event.
