President Deirdre Carroll

President Deirdre, a member since 2017 and has represented the club on a number of teams ILGU Mid Leinster Intermediate, GI Leinster South Intermediate Cup, Courtown Trophy. She has also won Captains' and Presidents' prizes with the help of her favourite 3 Wood in what she calls, “The Carroll Curve”.

Her favourite hole is 15th, which she describes as “Tellybubby Land”, with the most beautiful views from the green, looking back to Black Castle and views of the Clubhouse. Deirdre will always have a fondness for 2nd, from where she once left the course by helicopter as fitting for a President - was she practicing for 2026!!

President Deirdre, since joining WGC, is struck by the hard work and effort required by committees, staff and volunteers and its what provides the rest of us the opportunity to play golf in such a wonderful club. Deirdre would like to encourage all members, junior, new and old to get involved in the work of club, competitions, team events, social events, etc. She feels junior golfers are the future of the game, and our club, and deserve as much support as possible.
