Captain Debbie Kinsella

Captain Debbie joined WGC in December 2022, when on the night of the women's Christmas Party having been made feel very included and welcome her decision to join was easy. Debbies' perfect day at Wicklow Golf Club is on a Wednesday summer evening playing our stunning course, looking out at the blue sea with brightly coloured sailing boats and finished off sharing a fun filled get together with members at our 19th hole. 

Debbie represented the Club last year in the Courtown Cup which WGC won, defeating 16 other teams on the day, and hopes to have the opportunity to represent the club in inter-club competitions during 2026. Captain Debbie looks forward to having more winning WGC teams in the club during her year as Captain.

Captain Debbies favourite club is her versatile 8 iron for shots onto the green either as a full swing or chip and run, while her favourite hole on the course is the 13th. It requires course management to keep the ball on the fairway and potentially a satisfying second shot when the ball reaches and stays on the green. In addition the views from this green over the Irish sea are stunning. 

Captain Debbie with her tenacious work ethic promises to bring this into action for the benefit of Wicklow Golf Club.
