Thanks were expressed to Doreen McGettigan and her numerous helpers for another extremely successful Pink Day Celebrations which included the Afternoon tea, Golf Competition, Raffle and auction plus the ‘Sell your sole and bin you bag’ sale organised by Anna Noone and her team. We are still waiting for final figure of funds raised but aware this will be in excess of €10,115. Well done to all involved.

Very successful bank holiday weekend Haverfordwest visit organised by Billy Alexander and Captain’s Paula Johnston and Gerry Tiernan. The Celtic Cross was won by WGC and a great two days golfing was had by all. The Haverfordwest players were very complimentary of the course and the welcome they received. Friday evening proved to be a very enjoyable social event between the two clubs with fun games organized by Richie Porter.

Ilona Madden has sent in some good ideas for our new female members, some of which Captain Paula has taken to the Committee of Management for discussion. Ilona will be looking for new member’s ‘buddy’s’ in the near future and we hope that as many existing members as possible assist new members in obtaining their handicaps. President Clodagh welcomes new members personally when they join the club.

Competitions:

Interclub matches are well underway along with the very useful training sessions for team panels given by our Pro Louise.

The Club Mixed Foursomes competition entry sheet is now open with a closing date of 9th June 7pm.

Preparation for Captain Paula’s Competition was discussed, and posters and full information will be issued shortly. Reminder competition entry to the required category of membership over one full membership year. In addition, 3 qualifying cards from 2025 required to win the 2-day 18 hole and the Saturday 9 hole competition along with a fully developed handicap (consisting of 20 cards).

Club Prize giving:

Our new Monthly Medal necklace has had very positive feedback from the April winner.

Stephen Delaney from the Shoe Box will be sponsoring the Women’s Monthly Medal competition on Wednesday 28th May, followed directly by the monthly prize giving which will be at 8:30pm.
