Captain Paula welcomed all to our 4th Committee meeting of the year.

Previous minutes of the meeting were approved, seconded and signed by Paula.

Interclub matches and Team Managers are now all ready to go with panels picked for each competition. Many thanks to our Pro Louise who has set 4 dates for lessons to get our players “ready for action”. Please support our teams either at home or away.

Our International Women’s Day event was another great success and even the rain stayed away until we were all in. Our own Wicklow Olympian Roisin McGettigan Dumas, guest speaker, was outstanding in her beautiful, heartwarming speech on the day. Welcome home Roisin and family.

Our Spring Leagues and Presentation Night was also a great success. Eight prizes for each League were presented and for those of us who didn’t receive a prize, picky outs were also available.

The “Most Improved Player of the Year” award has now been introduced to Wicklow Golf Club; this is an addition to Golfer of the Year which has been established for a long number of years.

Play in Pink Day, on the Bank Holiday Monday, 5th May, 4-person Scramble is now available on the BRS for booking. Doreen and her team of helpers are also holding Afternoon Tea Party on the afternoon of Tuesday, 29th April. Please book with Emma at the bar.

Our 1st Monthly Medal of the season will take place on Wednesday 30th April, 2025. We look forward to seeing you all out there on the fairways competing for this coveted prize each month. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners automatically qualify to play in the Lesley Hopkins Trophy later in the season.

President Clodagh has been finalising sponsorship for the season, and we are very lucky to have secured some new Sponsors for this year. “Please remember to support our sponsors as they support us”.

The Quiz Night which was due to take place at Wicklow Golf Club on Friday 25th April, 2025 has been postponed until further notice.

Haverford West Golf members will arrive in Wicklow on Thursday 1st May and leave on Saturday 3rd May. Always a great weekend with plenty of golf, fun and craic between the Welsh and the Irish.
